    Hi Ho Silver

When my S was being freshened I bought a 67 Normal as a parts car that I had difficulty in putting out to pasture. The original owner had taken it apart and resprayed it Guards Red and his wife divorced him and put the car (in parts) in storage until I bought it fom her 30 years later. Now it's back in Silver and waiting to be assembled. Last on the road in 1976, 47,373.8 miles. I put 2.8 miles on it driving around my neighborhood. Hoping to have it road ready for the next Caffene and Octane here in Georgia on the first Sunday of June. Will post updates on a weekly basis.

    3.6 amd 915

Been doddling about with the normal and thinking about how to make it into a RGruppe Special. Was getting quotes to build a twin plug 2.5 and then ran accross this 911SC. Has a Porsche Motor Sports 3.6 longblock that had been sealed wrapped and stored for 12 years and then fitted with a crank fired dual plug system, PMO's and Bursch headers and sport muffler. Engine has less than a 1,000 miles on it and chassis 104.000 miles. Goes into the shop next Monday to be installed in the SWB including suspension and brake updates. Picked it up Saturday and have put on just short of 300 miles so far. It is smoking hot. Will be either selling whats left of the SC tub or parting it out. Can't wait to see how this feels in a SWB.

    new motor in swb

I think it is going to feel heavy in the back. Remember what happened to Jeff Smiths red 73E with a tricked 3.8 in the back. He sold it right away.

    Your first test drive.....

Well, make sure there is PLENTY of runoff area wherever you sort it out... if such a thing is possible.

Also, noise is a major issue with these. There simply isn't enough room back there for a decent muffler to handle that engine.

THO, they sound really sweet at high revs and WOT! Really.

[I had a very nice 77 coupe with 993 VR for a while.]

Good luck and HAVE FUN... you will.
