    M471 Lightweight seats

    Was the corduroy used on the M471 seats, if in fact it was used at all, the same as used on on the Recaro Sports seats i.e black and wide rib???

    M471 seats

    Clyde,

    Probably not, I have only seen the M471 seats with the thin fabric. But Recaro sold, I believe they were called Rallye 2 seats with leatherette bolsters and corduroy in 1967. They had the knurled screw back adjusters but do weigh a fair bit more that the RSL seats. I wondered if you could easily make out of such a Recaro seat a RSL lookalike seat?

    In cars I have only seen the thin upholstery. I have seen corduroy seats with adjustable rake but think these are after market. I have had one of the seats that Boyer describe. Heavy glassfiber and steel in the rake mechanism, very odd. Only seen one over they years.
