What engines used the 908 oil pump?

Found this inside one of my motors I tore down. It appears to be a sandcast magnesuim oil pump with a 908 part number. I read somewhere that these were used in factory race motors up until the 935 style pump was introduced. Is this true?

Per Henry Schmidt, these are identical to the SC oil pumps, some of which are mag and some of which are aluminum.

I thought the 1973 RSR used one, but the parts book says the part number is 916 107 007 00?
