Thread: Jackie Stewart signature wheel

    Jackie Stewart signature wheel

I found this wheel in the 72T when I got it home and starting digging. It came with the hub. Should clean up well and replace the less than optimal aftermarket wheel I have on the 67s currently.

The discoloration is dirt/grime and paper stuck to the leather. How best to restore the leather? Paint on the spokes looks to be good still.

What's the story on these wheels?? Who made them, what vintage might it be, etc.. Stamped made in Italy on the back. Thanks,

I believe that they are racemark wheels.
I have a Mark Donohue Racemark wheel

    Wrong again. They are Momo's.

Hi Bob . . . that's a nice wheel you got there. It looks like a 320mm and the engraving still looks bright and complete.

Can you share a pic of the hub it was screwed too?

I'm looking for an early momo hub.

    Thanks

I had one on my car for 25 years I love the thicker grip. I recently replaced with a prototipo but I redyed the old wheel and put it away. I would not have done this but it had cracks at the top from the sun so I had to fill in and dye. My signature is almost rubbed away. By the way it is a MOMO wheel.

    Hub and horn button

Both the hub and horn button along with the horn contact ring didn't survive the outside storage situation as well as the wheel did..

I've got a couple of Momo hubs besides this one. Karl, I'll dig them out and measure for you.. It will be early next week, heading for a DE early tomorrow am. Wish my car was going with me... Instead, I get to drive an 86 Turbo, hotrod 3.0 SC and a 964 Carerra.. woohoo.

I do like the wheel, I've got a Racemark in better condition, but I like the thicker feel of this one. Good to know it's a momo. Thanks for the help guys.

Picture of the Racemark versus the Momo JS wheel

JS Momo on left, Racemark on right. Racemark is about 32cm while JS Momo is about 33 cm. Racemark is slightly taller.

    Sorry for the crappy pictures..
