    horn button question

There was a wood wheel on ebay a few months back that had a 356B-C type plastic crest cap on a butterfly horn button. The seller said it was 67 Euro 911S. My picture is a mockup but I plan to mate the two because I liked the look. My question is has any one else seen this arrangement? I also have a picture of the cap on a "wingless" butterfly on a 64 [prototype?] 911. Thanks, Rick

    NO......

    I've had 4 Euro 67S's....

But it does look unique, and it's your car, so there's nothing wrong with it in my opinion. I've yet to see a brochure with it, but you do have a picture of a prototype with it....so why not do it?

    cheers,
    Eric

I have one on my '65...I'll try to get a photo on it later.

I have also seen one other one some time ago.

John, that would be great to see. Could you measure the large end diameter of the plastic cap. I want to make the two parts blend smoothly and that should tell me where to make adjustments. Im thinking of cutting the wings off a butterfly and smoothing it to make an assembly like yours which is accepted as factory equipment. I hoped someone else has seen the butterfly version but not so far.

Well, the one I have on the '65 is a butterfly type. Sorry for the fuzzy photo, I've had too much wine.

I have seen one other like this some years ago. However I have not seen one without the butterfly like the one you show.

Thats it! It looks like the plastic crest piece is under the chrome ring. More detail here would be appreciated. Thanks John, you made my day.
