    69S Fuel Pump

Are these impossible to find? Mine failed, my mechanic installed a used one which failed, and we couldn't find another. Rebuilds on these are reportedly unreliable (according to him), so he ended up finding a similarly spec'd Mercedes pump, installed it with a little creative plumbing, and the car runs. I have no basis for comparison as to how it should perform, but it idles well and certainly accelerates nicely when the revs top 5k. Any information around this issue is appreciated.

I assume this is an MFI car? If so, I just recently bought a new unit on Ebay.de http://cgi.ebay.de/Porsche-911-E-S-R...3%3A1|294%3A30

One thing I noticed though is that all connections on the pump have the same cross-section while on my original pump one is larger. Still, the number corresponds with the correct pump. Have not mounted it yet so no comments on reliability.
