    SWB Strut Checker!

I finally received my P286, boy is it cool. This is the strut alignment jig that is referenced in the factory workshop manual for SWB cars.

The spindle is inserted and the nut tightened down, then the distance between the posts and the strut is measured, if over 0.8mm, the strut is bent and cannot be reused.

Can't wait to check the rest of my struts! Then this tool will probably be sold to someone in the business of repairing and restoring SWB cars, as that person will be better able to use it than me.

The Registry should purchase these kind of tools and then lease them out to dues paying members. Back in the 70's the local P clubs usually had an assortment of tools that they loaned out to members

I saw one of those at Pomona swap meet before. He had just traded another guy for it.

    Nice tool.

I may make one if some measurements are given.
