    1966 brake switch

    Having brake light problems...Where is the brake light switch located on a 1966? Thanks.

    It's under the floor board at the base of the brake pedal.

    The brake light switch on a '66 is screwed through a banjo bolt into the side of the master cylinder. It is accessed from under the car by removing the protection plate.

    Here is one of Leon Kreger's photos showing the switch.

    A man never stands so tall. . . as when laying on his back to help a SWB 911!

    John, no apology ever necessary-- the 914 and darned near every other car uses the switch in the pedal cluster--- once at a club race a guy in my class came up and told me "you don't have any brake lights" and I pulled off the floorboard, blew the spider webs out of the switch and the lights came back!
