    Engine / VIN match (1967)?

Is there a database somewhere where I can cross reference the chassis number to the engine number on a '67?

I know this stuff pretty well in the LWB range, but SWB is a mystery to me.

    Chassis # 306073

    Engine # 909584

Doesn't look like a match to me, but hope the Number Police will adjudicate.

    Try here:

Look here for an "about" reference to the sequence of body to engine numbers:

The above information is from individuals offering the info on their (or other known) cars.

There isn't any publication that has this detailed information. The Red book has the latest update and corrected information for series numbers. The long standing expert information is the Boschen - Barth "The Porsche Book".

Also cross reference Dave Pateman for the most complete listing of engine numbers, engine type, internal factory numbers and case matching numbers, ever collected for the early cars. It too is on the S Registry. And is expanding as we speak.

There is a very good chance (99%?) it's number matching

    306091 came w/ 909609 from the factory. Completed October 25th 1966.

I agree that the match is pretty good.
What more can you tell us about the car? Paint code from the badge and engine build #'s would be very useful. Also, are you the owner?
Richard, what can you tell me about 306091?

I am not the owner. I am helping the owner to sell the car. It was delivered Bahama Yellow and it's a coupe. Looks like a mid/late-August 66 build.

THANKS, guys, for all the information!

Please snap a couple digital pics and post so we can see "the object." Thanks.

If you insist. Unrusted 'blue plate' CA car. Asking $17K, BTW.
