Beware of who is selling this before attempting to purchase. There is only one guy I know of in Sheridan, Wyoming that has a "warehouse full of early 911s" and is reputation is not exactly stellar. I cannot imagine Sheridan, WY has many guys with early 911s.
Here is only one example. I have read many others but don't have the time to search properly. The guy doesn't mind getting in the mud and throwing around violent threats when someone questions him.

1971 Metallic Blue 911T Sunroof Coupe
2007 Atlas Grey Cayman S (My First)
Thanks for the insights. I love seeing these early cars back on the road but you also point out that in all cases, caveat emptor.

I have that one down as 301556, but who knows. Has anyone actually managed to purchase a car from him?

Oddly enough, there is a Dr. Batty in Sheridan with a nice collection of Porsches. However, this is not him.

Ask "jplonghood" aka John about dealing with this guy.
Same thoughts as you guys.
From the above link you find:
We then went into town and toured John Small’s 1970’s era 911 Porsche's. He has close to 50 in various stages of disrepair and restoration. ...as you go through the slide show on the web site - http://vista.pca.org/abs/batty/index.html - you may spot others. NOTE: THE LAST 4 SLIDES ARE JOHN SMALL'S PORSCHE COLLECTION.
That is a sizable collection.
