    Wtb 914 4 2.0

I am looking for a nice, I repeat nice 73 or 74 914. Color is not that big of deal as long as it is not baby blue, but I need everything functioning correctly. I would prefer the car to be located in the Southeast, but I don't mind travelling for the right car. I am excluding all cars with carbs.

I have been looking on Pelican,Rennlist,Ebay, etc. I figured someone here might have a lead.

I have cash in hand and I am not looking to low-ball anyone. I will pay good money for a good car. My price range is $7500 to $15000. Please note, I am not interested in rollers, rust buckets, or projects. Thank you in advance.

    Bo...

They're out there! Check Craigslist. A fellow RGrupper and I drove to Memphis over the weekend to bring back to Knoxville a '74 2.0L. Less than 70K miles, sun yellow, CA car, no rust, for less than $4K.

    Bo,

You don't mention if you have visited the 914 Bulletin Boards?

Pretty good places to search for the car you are looking for.

    May I suggest...

    http://www.914world.com/bbs2/index.php?showforum=20

    http://www.914club.com/bbs2/index.php?showforum=20

There is a really nice orange '73 2.0 in New York on the 914club.com classifieds.

Another good site, but, often not many cars for sale is:
    http://www.roadglue.com/forum/

Hope this helps and good luck with the search.

Let us know if you decide on one.

Thank you for all of the help. PJenkins, the orange car on 914club in NY is lovely, but it is a carb'd car. I have, however, been PM'g and emailing the owner on the tangerine car in CA listed there, I hope he will respond. Thank you please any other help would be appreciated.

Not sure what you refer to as "baby blue" - that to mean means a light pastel like blue, but I don't know of a 914 color code like that. Here is an Olympic Blue one (like Mexico blue) from the PCA site. It's near you. Sorry for the tiny picture, but I can't seem to compress it below the silly 100 KB limit on my computer without making it postage stamp sized.

    Item Description
This incredible 914 was purchased new by Ed Atkinson. Ed owned an import repair shop, and this 914 was his ‘baby’. After a comprehensive restoration, this 914 was garage kept until it was sold by Ed’s estate in 2003. It has been garage kept ever since. Ed rebuilt the engine, transmission, and most of the mechanical systems. Ed also installed a crown turbocharger kit. While the turbo was a lot of fun, I decided to return this amazing 914 to stock configuration. A small area of the rear trunk was ‘clearanced’ for the turbo and repair piece is included with the car. While this is not a 100 point concours car, it would not take much to make it one. The list of NOS, mint, and NLA parts on this 914 are too long to list. Also included is a large folder containing vehicle documentation and handwritten notes from the original owner, the original Porsche owners manual w/ factory jacket, Bosch D-Jetronic fuel injection pamphlet, Porsche emission control system pamphlet, and Mitsubishi radio owners manual. New Service Includes: •Engine removed from car for full detail including repainting all engine and heater sheet metal •New engine bay seals •New Bosch OEM injectors and seals •Refurbished FI wiring harness •New vacuum and fuel lines •New oil cooler and seals •New oil pressure switch •New coil, points, condensor, spark plugs, cap and Beru wires •New numerous other seals and gaskets •New air filter, oil filter, and gaskets •New accelerator, clutch, and speedometer cables •Gas tank removed and cleaned •New fuel pump and tank lines – fuel pump relocated to front of 914 •Recent valve adjustment •Rebuilt pedal assembly •Replaced all engine sheet metal screws with stainless steel allen head screws •And much more!! Exterior Features: •Original “Olympic Blue” Color •Stunning “Everything Off / Out” Repaint Including Both Trunk Areas, Door Jambs, & Engine Compartment •NOS Factory Rubber Bumper Tops •NOS Factory Chrome Bumpers •All New Factory Weather Stripping / Seals •5 Factory Fuchs Alloy Wheels with Mint Factory Center Caps •Mint NOS OEM Hella Taillights, Turn Signal, and Side Marker Lenses •Rare SEV Marchal H4 Halogen Headlamps with separate high beam lamps •Hirschman Fully Retractable Antenna Mechanical Features include: •Bosch Factory D-Jet Fuel Injection with near mint FI wiring harness (all boots intact!) •SSI Stainless Steel Heat Exchangers •Koni Shocks & Struts •Short Shift Kit •Front & Rear Sway Bars with Custom Rear Sway Bar Couplings •Professionally Lowered •Optima Gel Cell Battery •Bursch Muffler Interior Features: •New OEM Porsche Factory Dash – “Not A Dash Cover!” •Factory Leather Steering Wheel •Mint Factory Gauges •NOS Factory Speaker Grills •Mint Mitsubishi Diamond Audio MX-4 AM/FM Cassette •Most other Interior Components are either NOS or Mint •Factory Owners Manual / Emission Control Brochure / D-Jetronic Troubleshooting guide and Factory Literature Jacket. Large file containing receipts and documentation from original owner.
