    Speedo cable connection to Transaxle

I have a '66. I believe the transaxle blade that connects to the speedo cable is bad. It appears the blade has broken off. Is this the type of repair best left to the pro's? Suggestions...

    Thank you.

No, you can replace the bad unit by removing the set screw on the trans and pulling it out. Then unscrew the right angle bad part and screw on the new one. Then reinstall with new o ring.

I just did this. You need to be able to hold the engine/transmission up with a good jackstand so you can move the transmission mount out of the way, too. Otherwise, not a hard job, just like Fritter said. Mine needed some "persuasion" to come out of the transmission, but was fine. Reinstallation was a breeze, car was back on the ground in no time. Good luck!
