    Chevy Billboards

Supposedly, Chevy will put these billboards up in Detroit for the Woodward Dream Cruise. Some pretty good stuff in there:

Ironically I just read a rant on Autoextremist today that complains about what a bad job GM has done marketing itself. Maybe the General was induced to come to the same conclusion by the bankruptcy, and finally hired more creative ad agencies? Humor has always worked for VW.

I love 'em all. I hope the campaign builds to the present. All they are advertising is the past (which we all love being that this is a board that centers on 35+ year-old cars). Not sure how successful it will be selling the cars that they offer now.

I think these billboards are just a scaled-back way for Chevy to offer some minimal level of support to the event. GM and Chrysler who used to have gigantic displays are gone. Ford is the only one left with their traditional display (about 500 cars alone!). The Cruise is 5 weeks away and there are ALREADY cars trolling around. The normal turnout is 20,000 to 40,000 classic cars and 1 million spectators - take that SoCal Cars & Coffee

The Midwest R Gruppe was cruising Woodward in this bright yellow Volvo truck a couple of years ago
