PPI in the SF Bay Area....Recommendations please

    Hi Guy's,

I am interested in a RS Clone built on a 70 911E in the SF Bay area and might need to have a PPI done this next week. There is another buyer looking at it early in the week so it would be pending that outcome.

Any recommendations on a good shop or individual that knows there way around one of these.

I am currently deployed/Iraq and it is a bit difficult doing this from here due to communcation limitations; I am returning early August.

Thanks for any info in regards to this.

Try Alan at The Stable in San Francisco. He has done a few PPI's for me and is very thorough.

    Ok,

What it looks like is that whom ever does the PPI will have to go to the car, not the car going to them or a shop. So if anybody knows of someone who provides this service that would be great.

    I appriciate the assist.

    Jimmy,

Unless the car is unusually rare and/or fragile having a mechanic travel to see the car and evaluate it mechanically and structurally without a lift or the benefit of his own tools is unusual. I would recommend that you convince the owner to flatbed the car (at your expense) in exchange for credit against the purchase should you consummate the sale. I just went through this and out of several cars that I evaluated not a single owner was inflexible on where the PPI could be done.

    Regards,

Tom is a god guy. If that is the only basis upon which the seller will have the car looked at, Tom is the guy. Don't buy it without a PPI!!!
