    The 1st Moon Landing

Pretty cool facts. Just goes to show that the moon astronauts were either crazy, had nuts of steel, or most likely just a combination of both.

I was 9 years old sitting behind home plate with my dad at Fenway watching the Sox play the Orioles when they announced the Astronauts landed on the moon.

It truly was an amazing moment that I'll never forget

"Aldrin, meanwhile, had to remember not to lock the door after exiting the LM, since there was no outside handle."

    This is incredible to me

Hey Neil, you got the keys? No, I thought you had the keys! Maybe we can break in with a coat hanger ...

    another very cool site http://wechoosethemoon.org/

you can follow the mission in real time with real archival radio comunications (in 'real time'), telemetry, mission time, commencing next stage count down, speed, mission tracker (shows stages of mission, and where the flight is located in relation to the earth and moon) of the historic apollo mission, as the events happened, exactly 40 years ago.

right now they are in stage 6, discussing how the planet looks from this distance (160760 NM, 3529 velocity ft/sec), the weather patterns etc.

there are also photo galleries, video, etc. very cool stuff.. After july 20, you will be able to experience the mission at your own pace, from any point in the mission.
