    steering wheel guru's .....

    Okay what do I have here ?? I think its 74/75 vintage - RSR but the pics I've looked at have diamond shaped holes rather than circular ......

    Hate to have that wheel crumple on a hard turn. Those holes must have been made for weight reduction. If I had it it would be mounted on the wall not in a car. Just mho

    I think that would be a safety feature to collapse the column and help absorb impact. Airbags are a lot softer.

    check out the 74/75 RSR - Olin is most likely correct the diamond holes in the picture below are probably safer ....

    The early wheels was centered, not as the later off centered. I have by people who usually know what they talk about that the RSR had standard steaing wheels, without things that added weight. Hard to tell from the picture but I think your wheels looks off center.
