    flapper box stud repair

when i removed my rotten heater boxes i broke 3/6 studs!
    my fix:
    1: cut off flush
2: 5 mm drill thru center and m6 tap
3: cut head off m6x1" bolt
    4: screw in new "stud"
    5: braze base to secure
    good as new and correct

I wonder if PB Blaster would have helped? Looks pretty dry (no oil residue).

    thanks classic.
i soaked them pretty good with liquid wrench, even tried a torch.
the nuts were fused and they aren't thick studs that can take a lot of torque.
when i thought they broke loose the stud was shearing.
    easy fix tho.
