AFTER the Ventura Show...Streets of Willow

We all know the Ventura Show (aka German Auto Fest) is a go
See Chuck's sticky and make your room reservations NOW!!!!

Several of us have been talking, AFTER a fun weekend of LOOKING at Porsches, lets spend Monday DRIVING Porsches

The Grand Prix Region PCA is doing a Day Away form Work DE and AX at Streets of Willow on Monday October 5.

    ONLY $115.00 registration fee, $140.00 AFTER 9-26

On Sunday, as the Ventura Show winds down, we can caravan to Lancaster and spend the night there.

My opinion, the Grand Prix Region has the BEST officers, volunteers around. A really great group of people.

Dammit, we are coming home on Monday after dropping the 911 at the shippers. How far is Willow from Ventura? Will get myself over to Google maps...

very do-able, nice drive, car needs 5 points to enter but they might have parade laps?
Sunday eve stay in Lancaster, 20 min drive to track.
Shoot cars till you lose light Sunday and then drive to Lancaster.
Depends what time you need to be at the LB shipper.
From the track w/light traffic 2 hours away?
If the moons alighned or at least the body panels on my car I might b there.

    Mike-

I'm fairly sure that 5 or 6-point restraints and hard-mounted fire extinguishers are not required for stock classes at this event, it even says it on the flyer (no special equipment required for stock class). However, Zone 8 rules currently require stock 3-point belts to be replaced if they are more than 20 years old, so if the tech inspectors are zealous, they could refuse a stock classic car (earlier than 1989) entry unless it has replaced the original belts. I don't think Grand Prix region tech inspection will be so strict, based on my past experience at this event, but San Diego region has been enforcing this rule even at autox events.

Personally, if I was inspecting cars and someone had come a long way to participate and their original belts were still in good condition (not frayed, split, or worn excessively), I would ask the event chair to give them a waiver to run for the day, but it is possible they could be excluded.

We'll be leaving the Ventura Show sometime in the afternoon as it winds down, and drive to Lancaster ans stay at the host hotel.

After a weekend of LOOKING at Porsches, Monday will be the day to DRIVE the Porsches in a safe, controlled environment..

Anyone else want to join us for the 3 day weekend?
