WTB: Heuer Monte Carlo Mastertime Set

There won't be any sticker shock - I'm aware that they are $$$.

There is/was a NOS pair on the registry for $4500, dated 66/67. Very appropriate

I believe this set was also discussed on this board (it was seen on CL Chicago or in that area).

    Hi John,

I would post a wtb ad on the Chronotrader board part of On the Dash. Onthedash.com. I've seen some beautiful dash mounted pieces there.

    Take care,
    Alan

    John;

Are you looking for a Heuer Rally Master set?

The Rally Master is a twin set of Heuers comprised of a Master Time 8 day clock and a Monte-Carlo 12 hour recorder mounted together on a double backing plate.

For your SWB car the Master Time should have 3-6-9-12 face and the Monte Carlo should be a three button with the jumping hour disc.

These early face designs were used up until 1969 after which they were revised.

Here is some background info from the Heuer catalog and a pic. Pic shows a 3-6-9-12 faced Master Time paired with a decimalized three button Monte-Carlo on a double backed plate for mounting on the dash.

    "In situ" pics FYI

Here's a Pic of my very early 1950's Heuer/Hervue set mounted in my 901.

and a 3/6/9 Rallymaster set in another of my old '65 911s- more period correct for this vintage of car.

.....I had a bracket made to fit the Blaupunkt slot, saves messing around with the glovebox and the radio can slot back in anytime.

    (neither for sale though, sorry)

    Cheers

    SK.

I second Alan's suggestion. I was fortunate that Jeff from On the Dash had a beautiful pair of Auto Rallye Timers and took pity on me. Also, I can put you in touch with someone from this board who was nice enough to offer me a pair similar to what you are looking for, but he wanted around $5k for his pair, and he was a true gentleman for offering them to me.

Pair I bought from On the Dash:

And here are the ones that might still be available:

Found a set. Last piece to go on the show queen.

I really like the idea of mounting it in the radio opening. I'm going to fashion a bracket and put it there.

I'm glad the Carmel show is early during Monterey week. After the show the queen is going to get driven hard and put away wet (and dirty).

    Cheers,
