    porsche corral at monterey

Hello, seeing that Porsche is featured car this year ,there will more than likely be a Porsche corral,do you have to have a pass or will all Porsches be offered corral parking? My brother and I will be driving up from L.A and would much like to park inside in the corral and not outside in the dirt.Does anyone have any info on this?We will purchase pass if need be.i will be driving my 912 and he will be driving a new 911.thank you much

The Porsche corral at the Historics is put on by the Monterey Bay chapter of the PCA every year. The PCA is letting an independent 'event company' do all the registration. You start here:
    http://www.motorsportreg.com/

Follow the reg. instructions and pick from their menu of activities and options....

I'm all signed up for the corral, the Friday night party, and the Sunday parade lap........There was MUCH more I could had signed up for. That alone ran me $170.00.
But consider, the biggest pain in the butt every year is a clean safe place to park at the track...... and this is as close as it gets.

    Hope this helps

Hal Thoms told me that parking WILL be a nightmare at this year's MHAR. Track management is being very stingy with team and media parking passes. He recommended that anyone driving a Porsche cough up the dough for the PCA corral and arrive early. Sounds like good advice.

Is the corral good for Friday too?
Or is it a weekend thing only?

The passes usually say "Saturday/Sunday" but in the past they let you park there on Friday as well. Friday's generally not very crowded thanks to all the lawn-shows (Quail, Concorso, etc.), you can see every run group on the track, and the tents are set up with displays like the Rolex Moments in Time. A good day if you are inclined toward asphalt over grass.

    Monterey Historics Porsche-Mania ...

I'm trying to "pin down" the event plan for this Porsche-Overload-Weekend...Check-out Jeff Trask's fenomenal "primo"compilation in this thread:

    http://www.early911sregistry.org/for...ad.php?t=26603

My question is: Does anyone know the time schedule for Pelican's Wine Tour Friday 14th?.. in case it make sense to combine the tour with Concorso?...thinking Concorso in the morning and Pelican's gathering in the afternoon...No?..(Concorso is $85.00/visitor until June 30)...

    Chuck's Parking-deal for Sat/Sun sounds like a plan

and, Yes... Baja Cantina for Thursday evening is a must...the rest is Laguna Seca and some "RM & Russo" in between ...That's it...Done.../ Lars...

    Lar"s what’s your car #? I'm 59.
Someone said 140 vintage Porsche cars?
For comparison sake what’s the average entry for a Rennsport?
Looking forward to the drive too, Wednesday LA to Paso.
