    Building a 911R(eplica)

I bought this car from AZ-NM earlier this year and we have now started taking it apart to make a 911R replica.

Car was free from rust, had a rear left fender damage once and some patching due to aftermarket AC installed in its past..

We are building it as close as possible to the original cars. So far I have decided to do the following mods to this rustfree '67 built 911L.

    Body
    - GF bonnet and decklid
    - GF doors
    - GF R fenders and steel or GF rear arches
    - R bumpers front & rear
    - oil filler in rear right fender
    - gas filler through bonnet, tank mod

    Engine / drivetrain
    - strong '67 blank case engine that came with my 70S
    - closer ratio 901 box
    - suspension and brake mods.. no idea yet.
    - 7R or deep sixes

    Interior
    - lexan windows ( rear + rear side ), correct vent windows
    - R dashpad
    - stripped dash with "R knobs/layout"
    - FIA approved classic seats + rollbar ( will be FIA licensed )
    - prototipo wheel
    - felt type inner roof like som R cars have
    - carpet / rubber where needed

.. this is how far we have come to date.

Am making my shopping list and hope to have the car ready for 2010 spring.

Any links to parts, pix and information to ease the build taken with a big thanks.

    Nice project, I believe that is a 68 not a 67.

I have no problem with the theory that all men are created equal.
But after that moment you are on your own and nobody owes you a damn thing.

    Yes, it is a '68.

Very slow progress... have collected parts and been busy elsewhere.
Doors, f+r bumpers, both hoods, lots of small parts are waiting for the passenger-, front- and engine compartment to be painted

Whats missing; front fenders, rear flares and windows, I dont really want to put in the old heavy glass so will use lexan, at least for the door and quarters.

Waiting .. Paris Dakar ride height

Getty doors (bad photo, down to the right in the pic .. the tub is in the way)

    Getty bumpers

    Getty hoods

    Mixed parts

It looks like you have a good jump on the project. Nice rust free car. Note to self... collect parts first.
Have you figured out what you are doing with the oil tank yet? On my project I have the blank panel from a 912 and a 72 set up. It will look somewhat correct from the outside at least. I guess my project is more tribute.
Here is a link to a project that I got some ideas from. Hope it helps.

5 years late but thanks, I hope to have it on the road spring 2020, its getting a 200HP 2.7 engine with carbs this winter. I wish I had more time to work on the car(s) but thats life.

Porsches and E-Types. Very nice. Can you post some detail photos of the final R outcome? Get out and drive!
