Great article Dave!
I love this magazine........
Pete.... too many good articles. I am going to have to take it to the beach on vacation so I can do it justice.

Great stuff. Excellence has the entire article posted online for now. You can find it here: http://www.excellence-mag.com/art1/art1p1.php
I agree with Dave's findings. A 2.2S with a short gearbox is a joy that suprises people with how quick it is, but a 2.8SS is a beast that is in another league alltogether.

I wasn't really sure where Dave was going with this article when we were doing the drive. But it's a really entertaining read. Nice job Dave!
BTW: I think it's John Trueman, not Fred Truman, who was Stoddard's engine builder back in the 70's. I wonder if he envisioned a couple of his motors doing a 3500 mile trip and a track day some 30 years after he screwed them together
Great article Dave! Now I know why there is a newly machined set of 930 cases and a 66mm crank hiding in the corner of your garage

It was a great article. I read it three times.
How about the article on Ferdinand Piech and all the boys that are about to send Porsche into the cellar? When I read this article, I thought that these three guys must have attended the Wall Street school of business.
I can't wait to see the outcome.

Bravo! What a fun article to read. "Excellence" does it again. The articles makes me want to start wrenching on a hot rod 911. Great looking cars.
