Which SEV Marchal/Motorola alternator is this?

Which SEV Marchal/Motorola alternator is this? Is it the '72-74 55A or the '75-81 70A unit? I had this one rebuilt a couple of years ago and forgot to write down the amperage.

Also, does it appear that a diode heat sink is missing from the back? I've seen the Marchals with a heat sink, but the bolt pattern on mine seems different enough that I'm not sure how it would attach.

Bill, there was a mid 75 change to the higher amp alternator, it was about 10mm deeper than the old version, some early 75's had a spacer ring in the blower housing to allow use of the earlier version which you would remove when installing the longer superseded type. Measure the depth of your alternator compared to a known earlier version.
