Original engine/trans search

I have a 1965 porsche coupe. It's a great car but the current engine and transmission are not original. It's a long shot but i wonder if anyone has knowledge of either item?

My car is vin #301278. According to the c of a the engine was #901428 and the transmission was #101349.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Glenn,

Did you advertise a Targa for sale last spring? I hope to meet you one day. I'll be working as a photographer assistant at the Geneva Concours Sunday so if you see an old geezer trailing a cameraman, that's me. I'll have my '65 Coupe on display in the PCA section too. I don't post on here often so I don't know Mr. Pateman but I'll give it a try. Thanks for your response.

David P is a good guy and keeps a lot of data, he might be able to help locating your original engine.
