Hi All:

I'm trying to optimize the fuel pump arrangement for my stock 1969 911T with Webers. The original fuel pump is gone and the one present is too weak along with the one I bought that was "guaranteed" to meet the supply pressure.

Here what I'm attempting:

1) Locate the fuel pump in front so it pushes and is away from the engine compartment heat.
2) Regulate the pressure for the 3.5-4.0 delivery at the banjos.
3) Currently my set-up sequence is:

tank
filter
pump up front
filter in the back
pressure regulator
pressure gauge tee'd in
carbs.

(with this set-up I get 2 to 2.5 psi)

Questions are:

1) Is the front mount, higher pressure and regulator set-up really practical or does it end-up restricting the flow?
2) What's the best fuel pump? Needs to fit up in the steering rack area and deliver several psi above the regulated pressure target.
3) I'd really like to stay original, but am folding for lack of availabilty and original design weaknesses.

I read hundreds of posts and a lot of the advice seems to cancel one another out so I thought I specifically state my problem.

Thanks for your advice. Regards, Bill
