    Thanks in advance

    Gary,

To clarify; this is a U.S. '74 Carrera 2.7 CIS 'G' series car... yes?

    Cheers

    not exactly

    Well not exactly....

I have a 68 with a 2L aluminum case that now lives at 2.7L and I was told was built to RS specs with a little compression boost. The car has webers. Anyway the distributor is a later model affair, a 231 184 007, best I can tell circa 1974. I was curious what the specs might have originally for the distributor.

I ask because when I set the point gap as recommended for a 68 the dwell is about 25 degrees, IIRC. My car has a permatune box and maybe the dewll is no longer significant, but I just wanted to know what was recommended and none of my references go into the seventies. The car runs well, I was mostly curious re the dwell and if I should expect short points life.

    Again, Thanks

    Gary

38 degrees but it doesn't make a big deal with CDI.
