    Voltage Reg - 35 vs. 55 Amp?

I'm replacing the volt reg in my 66 911 (35 AMP alternator) and notice that the replacement part I have, 901.603.206.02 (Bosch 0.192.062.007) is for 55 AMP alternators. Stoddards' manual states the 55 reg can be used on ealier cars with "minor modifications to regulator connections." Does anyone know what those mods are?

    Thanks

The 35 amp alternator uses three ring terminals and a spade lug for the connections.

The 55 amp alternator uses two ring terminals and a plastic plug with 1/4" female fastons captive in it. These are perpendicular to each other, and the plug mates with the regulator connection on the alternator's brush plate.
