    serial #

Can anyone tell me what engine would have a serial # 449xxxx? I think a 68 but what? My books show numbers in the 40xxxxx or 41xxxxx ranges only.

    Thanks

Not in my list of engines. What other numbers are on the engine; ie type # such as 901/xx.

I'd like to see a photo of that engine #.

I have not seen this engine yet, so I can't verify the serial or type #, the number was given to me. Could this be some other use than 911? My curiosity is now spiked. Maybe the number was misread but the person seems to think it is rare/uncommon. Thanks for the reply. I will try to get more info or pictures.

The 9 in the third digit would seem indicate a 1969 engine...but a completely different sequence was used in 1969...odd...
