    1969 908lh

I snapped a couple pictures at Monterey of the 1969 908 on display in one of the tents. Did they run inner tubes back then? I am trying to figure out what kind of valve stems they used. Anyone know? They look to be low profile, I figure they are designed this way to help with centrifugal force on the stem.

    Thanks,
    Brad

    Enduro modular valve stems

That valve stem is a modular system that was used by Ferrari, and I guess Porsche, on Prototypes at the endurance races back in the sixties:

The threaded plug is installed in the image.

When the plug is removed, a threaded valve stem would need to be screwed in to change pressure.

It is for a tubeless application.

My old friend Ray Cuomo at Gofaster, the Goodyear Race Tire distributor in the Northeast (before Penske), had a bunch of similar examples made in brass that he said came from the Ferrari team at Daytona one year (back around 66-68).
