    Wanted: ROOF RACK

Does anyone know of a roof rack for a SWB car? Not concours / NOS / perfect but strong enough for spare wheel and parts for London Casablanca Rally in November.

    Steven,

That wouldn't happen to be your car at The Stable in San Francisco is it?

I dropped off my 356 for service this morning and a car was in being prepped for the London/Casablance event...

here's more photos of my rack.

I have them available in Carson, California, close to L.A. or here in Brussels Belgium. they are very very strong!

I'm working on a bigger model, to carry 4 tires to the track :-)

the one in the pictures here is available at 500$ + shipping

    Jason,

Yes, that is my car with Alan. It is being shipped out of LA on the 21st to London. Alan is doing some motor work on it.

Nice rack, Kobus. Worried about how securely it is atached to the car. If I read the photos correctly, it is secured at two points - the other fours appear to be just holding it off the roof. I worry that on irregular terrain (!) it could come loose.

Anyone have details of original rally car roof racks?

You can also consider to use a regular original 911 ski rack (4 attachment points) and bolt a wheel carry rack to it. The advantage is that you can size the rack to your actual needs and that the ski rack will not be altered. The only thing you have to have made / make is a carrying rack. For the rally it really doesn't matter whether it's original but functionality will count.
