alternative to Bosch MFI fuel pump?

My 71E fuel pump is AFU. I'm looking for a replacement Bosch, but now that these things are NLA, has anyone come up with a reasonable alternative?

There is no direct alternative. you might be able to convert an old BMW or Merc pump, but the cost would be pretty high. Might as well just send your pump to Gus. Its either that or carbs.

Just to clarify, I'm referring to my MFI electric fuel pump....not the MFI injection pump.

alternative to Bosch MFI fuel pump?

Al, I don't know of any good alternatives to the factory style pump, not to say that there aren't any, just that I don't know what they are because I prefer to keep everything as stock as possible, just a lot less complicated that way and then you know the system will work as designed. That said there is a company that will rebuild the original fuel pumps, but since cores are hard to come by (back when pumps were easily obtained the old one was thrown away) you will need to have a core of the type you want. These rebuilds are available from Zim's or my shop. They all come from the same place. I've had one on my 72 for years.
