    Comprehensive Wheel Summary

There are so many various types of wheels and wheel sizes for these cars that my modest store of knowledge does not have them all identified. But I'm certain that the collective knowledge of this group does. I've done a number of searches and have yet to find a comprehensive summary what was used when, weights, appropriate tire sizes, etc. Is anyone aware of such a list and if it exists where it might be found?

If none is available, perhaps we can compile one here. We have seat police, light police and tool kit police - there must be a few wheel police out there.

To get things, umm, rolling, here are a few factoids that I think I know:

    Fuchs
    ------
    7" with deep offset inside - 911R
    4.5" x 15 - '67 S
    5.5" x 15 - '68
    6.0" x 15 (deep 6's) - '70 & '71
    6.0" x 15 (shallow 6's) - '72 & '73

Hoping for many corrections and additions!

    Cheers,

Allen - a few 'amendments' to your list:

911.361.020.01 - 7x15 for 3-pronged centre cap - this wheel was also used on the rear of the 2.7RS (with 6" fitted to the front)

911.361.020.11 - 7x15 for 'ring' type centre cap - this wheel was never fitted to a 2.7RS when new

911.361.020.02 - 8x15 - fitted to the rear of the 2.7RS (with 7" fitted to the front)

911.361.020.03* - 9x15 - fitted to the rear of some late '71/'72 2.5 ST's (as well as front of 2.8 RSR)

*Incidentally there were 2 versions of this wheel with the same part number (unlike any other Fuchs which distinguish them by variations of the last 2 digits of the part number) - the earlier version for the 3-pronged centre cap & the later version for the 'ring' type centre cap.

73 I agree but, what about the later 74/75/76 Carrera Euro 2.7 or 3.0?

I think most of us know that, Bill. What is needed in order to compile a comprehensive resource are facts such as the following:

    o OEM or after-market?
    o When were they offered?
o Options or standard on certain models?
    o Part numbers?
    o Weights?
o Appropriate for what size tires?

We're off to a good start. I will start putting together a spreadsheet with all of the information that we are able to gather and I will post it as a pdf.

    Cheers,

Allen - I've never heard of an 8in Fuchs wheel with the part number 911.361.020.22 - what was the finish on this wheel & what was its application ?

    Andy,

I really don't know for sure but believe it was just a later version of the .12 with a different paint scheme. I'll bet Harvey knows, maybe he'll chime in at some point. Wheels seem to interest him

    Andy,
First thing we have to do is seperate the forging numbers from the part numbers. As you know the numbers on a Porsche part may or may not be the number that you order.
The 8X15 12 forging number was available in at least three variations: as a black center-all polish anodized outer, black center rough/polish anodized outer and a unpainted wheel. All with different part numbers and the same forging number. I would usually order the 91 (unpainted) as it was the least expensive 7X15.
Allen I'll dig through my notes to get some specifics for wheel fittments.
