Talking Gibbs lube - anyone used it ?

i have been reading up on the properties of Gibbs lubricant for the conversion of rust and protecting metal on car bodies prior to painting .
I find it questionable , as a lube , that you can actually paint over it with out issue ?? can some one vouch for the product?

I used Gibbs regularly for protecting all metal parts from corrosion. it does a great job.

I have a couple of steel head studs that I bead blasted, coated with Gibbs and let sit on top of my workbench for close to a year. No corrosion.

I have never tried to paint over it although I could give it a quick try on these head studs and let you know what I find.

Works great on magnesium. Works even better ion a Glock.

It really does work very well at stopping rust and corrosion on bare metal.

I have painted over areas that were sprayed. Obviously you have to let the Gibbs dry before painting over it, but the paint does stick.

I have the same experience as those above. Works fantastic on all magnesium(and other metals) parts, prevents corrosion/discoloration.

Do you have to order from the website, or can it be purchased at retailer locations (and if so, who carries it)?

Yep, works fantastic. Just order a case and split it with a local buddy. You'll use it for everything. I use it on fuchs, fans, engine cases etc. I also use it on guns, stainless sinks and many more.

I call the number listed on their website and order it by the case.
