    Mike,
The car sounds incredible. All the right people have done all the right things to the right car. How about a few photos for us day dreamers? I love aubergine...

While I agree that the appearance (I love the color as well) and the performance is outstanding, the car is highly modified. From my perspective it's a numbers matching R Gruppe car. Does this change the value? To be clear, I'm not trying to take away from Mike's car. It's a beauty. I'm just curious what the group thinks.

I'd classify it as an authentic car. To me, internal improvements to the engine and transmission do not disqualify a car as being original. I'm not as sure about suspension enhancements and brake upgrades, but I give them a pass too. It is possible to enhance the driving experience without compromising it. Not too many of us run bias ply tires anymore for example.

    As a I said it's a matter of perspective.

I would have thought that the steel RS flares and the 2.7 RS spec rebuild constituted "highly modified". I can see now that I am in the minority. Therefore, I defer to my esteemed colleagues.

I am with you John. Internal engine improvements (as long as they add to performance and are still of street configuration), are not a price deduction in my book. Rear flares would be though in my opinion. Regardless, the rest of the car seems very correct and well done in maintaining the original essence of the early 911S car. The car looks beautiful and the rear flares are subtle compared to many I have seen.

"Purple" (eggplant, aubergine etc.) cars get a pass with me.

    Pretty car. Tough market.

    Best,
