Thread: What is the correct red line on Tachometer for 1969 911 S

What is the correct red line on Tachometer for 1969 911 S

As there were many variations to the detail of the 5 gauges from year to year and model to model. Especially on the Tachometer and the Oil temperature&Pressure Gauge. My question are
    1) What is the correct red line on Tachometer for 1969 2.0 911 S? As i have seen some Tachometers with the red line at 6600 and some with 7300
    2) What is the correct gauge for Oil Temperature and Pressure Gauge? There is no problem about the Pressure gauge side as many of them that I have seen show the number from 0, 20, 60, 100, 140 But my problem is about the Oil Temperature, Some have a number start from 140, 175, 210, 240 and 280 and some have a number start from 120, 180, 210, 250 and 300

So please recommend, which one is the original for 1969 2.0 911 S
    Thank you very much

Forget to mention that My 69 S is right hand drive, with the chassis # 119301255. I'd add one more question is it possible to know whether the car is right hand drive or left hand drive from its chassis number?

    Thank you very much

All of the S models through '73 have a 7300 RPM redline.

No, there is no tell-tale in the VIN or chassis # for which side drive it is.
In fact, I just realized that with the 1969 production number stamped on the dash frame there is no indication of drive side nor engine type (4 or 6), both of which are significant deviations from a standard body.

The rear of each of the gauges for '69 models should have 2 threaded studs to which brkts are attached to hold them into the dash.

    Here's an example (tacho):
