    Thru Grille Lights LWB

I have searched threads, but all I find is SWB TGL installation. I have had SWB lights installed, and its pretty obvious. I just got a set for LWB, but I don't understand how to install? I look, but it doesn't seem like it will be easy? Can someone please show me a picture of the bracket attachment? My apologies if I have missed the thread, and you are tired of hearing about it. I have a 1972, advise please.

Those brackets are also pictured in s2car for sale thread. They are the black flat metal with curves to attach to the LWB battery boxes and extend thru the grill. I purchased these a few hours ago but they are available as a repro thru many/few vendors @ or about $100.00 per set of two.........hope this answers at least in-part your question...Cliff

    Cliff,

I have the original brackets with the lights. But there are no holes to attach to when I remove the grilles. How and where are they attached? Thats why I need picture or diagram.

    Thanks

    where does the bracket mount?

I don't have the answer but here is a pic of an exposed lwb battery box.

Maybe someone else can tell you where the long arm of the bracket mounts to the box.

    mountint LWB brackets?

Yep, that's them. I see nothing except drilling, which would be easy if they were exposed. But peeking thru the grill openings I can't imagine how you could?

    bracket mounting

In accord with the parts book 9/6 section, it show the brcket pictured with the long end as being atop the battery box orientation! Probably the tire would have to be removed prior to instalation. I`ve never done this so it is just a guess on my part...Cliff

If my memory serves me, on my 73 the bracket is attached to the front of the battery box. I remember having to remove the battery to get to the nut that held the bracket so that I could mount my lights.

demo, you didn't mention it but is your car setup from the factory for the driving lights (wiring and dash switch installed)? If it isn't then this may be the reason that you don't have a mounting hole.

Someone please correct me if I'm wrong about the TGL being an option on the 72/73 models.

The holes are present in the photo of the battery box

The holes for the TTG lights are present in the photo of the battery box!

    Look closely!

On top of the box is a raised bump with a hole then there is another hole in the front of the box... On most cars the holes have clear plastic plugs...

The bracket has the straight leg that goes to the top hole leaving the dog leg lined up with the front hole. The batteries must be removed and obviously the horn grilles. It is best to use 6mm Allen bolts to install the brackets.. With patience it only take about 30- minutes to install both brackets

Unfortunately it is not set up for the TGL. I have the harness, but no dash switch. Crap, maybe I will just mount them for the look. Sound like allot of trouble for the seldom use, I have H1's. I just like the look, or maybe I will bring them to the LA show, and sell them?? Thanks for the reply's.

The LWB Brackets are a lot easier to install than the SWB's IMHO. The switch is easier to source too. Don't roll over so easy!

    Good luck,
