    MFI Rebuild

My 73 911S is having MFI pump problems. Someone recommended a local place in Santa Ana called Diesel World. I called and confirmed that they have experence rebuilding these pumps. Has anyone out there used them?
Thanks for any help. (with a daughter just off to college this is an expense I don't need right now!)

Philip, one name pops up here more than any other, in relation to MFI pump rebuilds - Gus Pfister.

Search, using the search button for one word "Pfister" and you will see this topic covered in depth

I do not know Diesel World, but if you look through some of the threads, you will see several options.

    All the best

I do not want to tell you that you do not have a pump problem but, have you gone thru CMA, checked your throttle bodies, and veified electrics.

If it is a pump issue +1 for Gus and PFI (Pacific Fuel Injection).

You might want to give Mark Jung a call (356RS on Pelican...I know he hangs out here too, but I don't know his early S tag) Search Pelican for 356RS posts and you'll find his thread that shows the details of his MFI pump test bench......very nice work!!

Short Version, PFI rebuild was $1100, and an 8 week turn to get my pump back on a 69S.
Gus at PFI just did my MFI rebuild. My car is doing a restoration and is still in the shop, so I can't attest to the quality of the work. I hope to soon. From my understanding and experience, Gus is the only game in the US, although I heard about an outfit in NY or NJ that works on them. However, I never got anyone to answer the phone there. I forgot the name and discarded the number after getting my pump back, writing it off as a bad lead, wish I could help more.
Be warned, Gus works at his own speed. I am told he is very methodical in what he does, and produces a great finished product. The guy doing my restoration is a Bay Area local, and sends him a lot of work. He was trying to get mine sped up in helping my hopes of taking the car to Monterey in August, but it all fell apart. I almost converted to a 2.2 to get a completed MFI pump, but found out the particular pump was behind me in the order. It never happened, amd my imatience is a newly found non virtue, ha ha.
Good luck with your efforts. Looking forward to firing up this beast.
