I just picked up a pair of NOS Webers and noticed there is no "Made in Italy" casting on them like the others I've had. Anyone seen this before?
I'll take more pictures in the daylight tomorrow and post them.
Thanks,
Mike

Usually it is on the other bowl, Webber as posted then the BREVETTATO ect made in Italy
After production stoped in Italy it went sort of aftermarket Spain & Brazil from memory, how do you like them I guess ids the bottom line.
As in your picture the castings are a bit rough, and I would question who ever called them NOS, although that could be construed as NOS from the aftermarket producer.
I am not knocking them, just trying to add info from your question. Pic posted of the Italian version look to the right on other bowl, pic is from a set I was documenting type getting ready to sell the set.

I'm pretty sure that late IDA's were produced in the USA - the ink stamps on your suggest that these were part of a PMO kit back in the day.
My understanding is that Richard at PMO embarked on his carb project after finding the USA version (which at the end of their production was the only version available) had varying degrees of quality control.

Like Andrew15 said.
Richard actually offered his expertise in trying to help the Carter Corp. work out the bugs (and there are many) but his advice was ignored. The Italian Webers are a work of are really.....nicely done castings and precision machine work.
The Carter Webers are hit or miss. Some of them worked OK but some did not. If you ever take them apart make sure you carefully check for shim rings in the emulsion tube wells (under the emulsion tubes) because sometimes the wells were machined too deep and shims were used to raise the emulsion tubes to the proper level. Also the shims are of varying thickness because the wells are not all the same depth. If you lose the shims (a lot of them are lost by now) they don't work so well.
They also had shaft misallignment issues and other problems.
Hopefully your carburetors work well. If not I would spend a little more for a nice pair of Italian Webers or buy some new PMO's.
