    South Florida Drives

Ok guys, I know that there are some early 911's in South Florida. The heat finally broke and I was out for an early morning drive in my car up to Jensen Beach. What a great time, even on our crappy roads. I even saw Frank with his red 911T out enjoying the morning.

Since the weather has finally improved, why don't we plan an informal get together and drive early one Sunday morning. Nothing fancy, just meet and drive to a spot for breakfast and coffee. Even if it is just a few of us.

Please let me know if interested. Based on the geography we could do one in Palm Beach and the next further south. I'll be happy to organize and map out a route. This is something we've all talked about doing down here, so now that it has cooled off lets get together.

Take in all the scenery of lovely South Florida. Nice run through Riviera Beach then over to Indiantown.

Not a bad idea. Must fit the car seats to the old 69S and give it a workout....

Ok, so far I have heard from Frank, Juan, Russ, and Phil. Plus I have a few other guys that do not necessarily follow this board. I included a friend that has a '78 911SC. I'll follow up with some dates in the next day or so.

Definately in, Keith. There are a few good routes that are interesting, traffic-light even in season and have good stops.
Around Lake Okeechobee via SR80 or Indiantown Road is a regular for us. A southern loop including SR80/29 to 41
(stop in Everglades City for smoked fish) is another with nice scenery, though the return on 27 is a little boring.

I am a "snow bird" and keep my RSR replica just south of Palm Beach. I look forward to some good runs once I get down there. Can't wait. Keep using this site to post information.

Has anyone done the track events at the former Moroso track? Isn't Braman (sp?) doing some events there?
