    Early radio experts out there? Advice needed

    We have a Becker Europa with terrible reception- this with the new hirschman export market 4 ft tall antenna.
    Any ideas on what to look for ? repair? Who is the best in usa to go thru one asap ?

    It could be as simple as tuning the antenna to the radio. Most early radios have an adjustment screw on the side. How you do it is tune the radio to a weak station than turn the adjusting screw in or out to obtain the best reception quality. Not all antennas are created the same.

    Dave,

    Europa's have a small pot above the FM button by the tuning knob. That is the only accessible adjustment without opening the radio that I have seen. If you have a MBZ face plate you will see a small black plug that is removable to access it. If you have the smaller Porsche style bezel, then I think it needs to be removed to access it.
    With that said, I have no idea what the adjustable pot does... but may be worth the try.
