Does anyone know if these are still in production?
Does anyone know if these are still in production?
Last I heard Charlie was only making them in his spare time...of which he has none.
I know he refined his design a few years back, but if he made 20 of the new ones I'd be surprised.
They were great bars if/when you could get 'em.
There are other (more readily available) options on the market.

Thank you for the info. Perhaps there is a chance of finding a set for a SWB 911....Cliff
Excuse my ignorance but what are charlie bars?

I have no problem with the theory that all men are created equal.
But after that moment you are on your own and nobody owes you a damn thing.
As Marco says... They were popular in the late 80's/early 90's when Charlie was making them in his shop as orders came in. One of the best sway bars, but have not seen any in years (similar designs now available from companies that keep them in stock).

Hi,
"Charlie Bars" were designed and made by Charlie Spira of Wrightwood Racing and he's no longer making them.
These were a no-compromise product of superb quality before the latest crop of CNC'ed bars came along from TRG, Smart Racing, and Tarett.
The only SWB adjustable bars I've seen are the Weltmeister (Sway-a-way) ones so if you wanted something less "agricultural", I think you'll need to see if the current makers of premium adjustable bars will do a one-off version with longer arms for SWB cars.

Some images of Wrightwood Racing's 'Charlie Bars' . . .
Funny. These happen to be on our racecar and we were using the "tuning feature" at Fontucky this weekend. Made a huge difference, actually.
