    Calling all fog lights experts

I'm looking for Hella fog lights for my 69. I see Hella 128's everywhere--amber ones and clear ones--including what appear to be ones newly manufactured by Hella. My understanding is those are not correct for post-68 cars. I think cars from 69 and later used Hella 139's or Hella 169's. I see very few Hella 139's or Hella 169's out there, including zero newly manufactured ones. Is Hella making 128's but not 139's or 169's? Is anyone making quality repros of 139's or 169's?

No repro of 139/169 (139 and 169, they are identical). Post 68, Porsche used 139/169 fog lights for munting below the bumper, and 118(TN4 in the US) fog and driving light for horn grill instalation. I would recomend to search this site, all the info you are looking for are allready documented in a lot of treads.

139/169 lights were not installed on US delivered cars during this period and the only ones here are from ROW cars or old Hella stock. I was fortunate to have 2 pairs, but sold one. They come up from time to time (once a year) and they are $400 and up. I sold a used pair in really good shape for $450 a year or 2 ago during a stronger economy. Be aware that there are 2 different mounts for the same style. You have to get the rear post mount for our cars. Good luck with the search.

I've seen the style that has a top mount, are those for SWB?

Nope, SWB had the 128s which were a top mount but, a smaller, more rounded light.

what would 139 with top mount fit then?
seems it could be made to fit since it looks like the bracket would accept
a top mount, or am I wrong?

139/169 with top mount is for other car makes. Porsche only used the rear mount 139/169 for the LWB. The SWB had different bumpers with different mounts to accept the top mounted 128.

Do the bumpers on the LWB cars not allow you to fit the top mounted 128's?
