    11/63 date code steel wheel??

This seems like a very early date stamp to me. Size 4 1/2. Would go on a '64 911, or could it be from another vehicle?

Would be in the build period for a 356 C/SC. Started '64 model year with disk brakes.

Figured something like that, but I didn't know anything about the 356 bolt patterns, and I forgot about the disc brakes on the C.

I'll list it on the 356registry...does $50 sound about right? I also have two 4.5 5/65 Lemmerz wheels, are those worth about the same? Those could be for a 356 or a 911 too, I suppose?

    Bill,
Does it have a 3.7 or a 3.9 on it? The Carreras (and maybe the 911s?) usually used the 3.9s. You can always measure it at the lug flat. It is probably a standard 356 wheel. $50 if not bent.
If it is a 3.9 PM me.

What do those numbers, 3.7 and 3.9, refer to?

The thickness of the metal. Porsche was trying different thickness on the wheels from the beginning 356s. (The most famous being the 550 recall wheels that failed around the lugs.)

As far as I'm aware, 904's never used 4.5 " wheels.

In addition, the wheels used on the 904 models had steel centres rivetted to alloy rims.

    Wheels

The 356 in July 63 a 64 model year car had disc brakes. the bolt patern is the same on a 356 as a 900 series cars at 5x130mm and 14mm lug studs. 15x4.5 inch with a 11/63 date code would be a 356 wheel likely for sure. $50 for an unbent "core wheel" is a fair price and Brad at Stoddard/NLA parts in Reno will buy them all day long.......
