    cutaway chassis diagrams needed

For lack of a better description, I need the "renderings" of the 911 and 914 chassis that show both how the body is "layered" to the longitudinals, and built up. The area I need is specifically from the jackpoint aft. Anybody have any detailed factory pictures of this. I presume this would not be proprietary. I can dig up various assembly line pictures, but I need something a little more detailed...that shows the step by step. I am familiar with these areas having restored bad steel in the context of restorations, but would like to study some diagrams. I would rather not just start to cut up older chassis'...got to be something out there that details this.

    Thanks in advance.

This book has a lot of what you're looking for, I believe.

    Good resource for basics...thanks

But I need more detailed information. I would consider that book a reference for a DIYer looking to learn how to remediate a few classic rusty spots. I'm not concerned with rust, I need to see how the panels were chronologically welded up...a "which came first"...chicken or the egg type thing. Thanks though

check out his 912 restoration. He's got a couple of cross section cuts that show all the panels that make up the longitudinal area and illustrates where they meet and where the spot welds are located. I'm using them as reference in my restoration and they are incredibly helpful.
