    Complete 1967 911 Engine & Transmission

    Less than 48,000 documented miles
Sand cast Aluminum case for both engine & Transmission
Unique Engine # one of less than a thousand that have a 911 prefix
Complete from Air Cleaners to Exhaust Muffler (Leizstriz Sport)
Heat Exchangers are rusty from condensation
Weber carburettors were rebuilt and new fuel lines installed,
Motor had sat in car for 30 years. Before turning over I filled each cylinder with Marvel Mystery Oil and let it soak in for a week. I then added a pint of Marvel to the case and turned it over first by hand and then with the starter while the coil was unplugged for a couple of minutes. I gapped the plugs, set the points and scrapped and filed the contact metal on the cap and rotor, drained the oil and refilled with Mobil One and a new filter, attached the coil, put some gas in the carbs and it fired right up but ran very roughly. I had the carbs rebuilt and new fuel lines and got a new fuel pump. Also boiled the tank and had it coated and blew out the fuel lines, put in new plugs and it ran very well. Starts right up, idles smoothly, falls apart over 4,000 RPM, I think it's a fuel starvation issue. I was going to build a short stroke twin plug 2.5 but instead found a 3.6 SC that I am switching the engine. Transmission, suspension, instruments and some other goodies over to the 67N. The engine and transmission are dirty, dusty and ugly. The transmission is still attached to it along with the starter and solenoid. The 901 transmission shifts smoothly into all 5 gears and reverse. Complete with shift coupler, tube and gear shift stick. Had a leak down test performed after the engine was removed. #1 is not good, the rest are not bad. I understand the leaks were detected through the exhaust and carbs so that indicates valves. Could be carbon or pitting from sitting for so long. This engine has the 66MM crank which is very difficult to find and the 2.0 Sand Cast cases are the strongest and most desirous for building race engines. I would prefer to sell it whole to someone who can pick it up but can break the transmission off and strap and wrap it to two pallets for shipping. It's at a shop and is available to inspect or pick-up during normal business hours by appointment. Leak down results are taped to Air Cleaner in one of the pictures. I have some threads of my project including the history here: http://www.early911sregistry.org/for...ad.php?t=27281

    Transmission Sold

Transmission Sold, Last chance to buy engine as long block will start dismantling and sell components down to long block next week. Make me a reasonable offer. All I have gotten is "low ball "give me" offers so far, or "how much to ship to XXXXX. I'm not in a position to quote shipping prices, I'll let Yellow Freight or Forward Air do that when engine is sold.

Yeah, that dawned on me after I wrote my reply. Should have picked up on "Silver". Fingers crossed, will be picking it up tomorrow late morning. Was corner balanced this AM, a new trigger for the crank fire and a few little bugs taken care of. Will be doing the Spring Meet in N. Ga. this weekend and will be posting a recap with details and pics before I leave, time permitting, Friday.

Last chance to buy this complete motor. I will start parting it out to a long block and selling the components next week. Will sell for NLA plus shipping as a whole - air cleaner to sport muffler until early next week when it goes on a stand and I have a wrench in my hand. This is a sand cast aluminum not a magnesium case. The 901 has been sold.

    Thanks,

    Bill

Cool Interested in Leistritz Sport Muffler!

    Bill,

If you do "part the engine out", I'd like 1st dibs on the Leistritz sport muffler.
Please let me know the price shipped to 90630.

In addition could you provide pics of the muffler and confirm the date code.

    Thanks,

    Paul Rodelo & Judy

I'll keep you in mind Paul and give you first dibs. It weighs about 10 pounds. I'll check the date on it and post it along with a photo when I pull it off. The stainless straps are new from Stoddard. Have to dwell on the price I'll ask.
