For many of you have learned (unfortunately the hard way), it is really expensive to build a nice RS clone. Yes, there are a bunch of them out there, but most of them are really not that great. This car is a very nice example.

The key with building a good RS is to start with a great car. This car was originally sold new in Southern California which means that it has lived a rust-free life. This car went through an extensive 2-year build. It is a great example and extremely well built. It was taken down to the bare metal and painted its original color in acrylic enamel with hardner. It then went through countless hours of hand color sanding and buffing to bring out its shine. The paint looks great. There are a few rock chips here and there from use, but that’s about it.

The mechanicals are just as nice as the body. Here are the details:

    ENGINE:
13,600 miles on rebuilt engine w/ the following:
Motor based on 1990 964 C2 (3.6 liters) twin plug.
Machining of motor, heads and cases (additional oil cooler) done by Ollie’s in Santa Ana CA.
Built and balanced by Sergio Nardi @ Game Face Motors in La Habra CA
w/ Distributor vent upgrade, new Motor Mounts, new Valves, new Valve Springs (3 angle valve job)
    (2) Front mounted Oil Coolers w/ Elephant Racing Finned oil lines and purge valve.
Porsche Mahle pistons w/ new rings (flame ringed).
DME chip by Patrick Motor Sport in Phoenix AZ.
Monty Muffler (all stainless steel, Dual in, Dual out type) from Australia.
SSI (Stainless Systems Inc.) heat exchanger w/ heater boxes.

    TRANSMISSION/TRANSAXLE:
Rebuilt 915, 5 speed w/ Stock gear ratios.
Porsche ZF Limited Slip transaxle w/ 7:31 Ring & Pinion.
New Performance Clutch package (Pressure plate, Light weight Flywheel and Disc) by Patrick Motor Sport.
WEVO gate shifter & coupler w/ new linkage bushings.

    BODY/EXTERIOR:
1978 Carrera suspension (ride height and suspension set to Carrera specs).
Strut Brace for front shock towers,
Steel SC rear fender flares, RS front & rear bumpers.
Boxter front brakes, 911S rear brakes, Cross drilled rotors, SS brakes hoses, 21MM Dual Carrera Master Cylinder.
7x16 Porsche FUCH front rims polished w/ painted centers and 205/55 ZR 16 90W, YOKOHAMA.
8x16 Porsche FUCH rear rims polished w/ painted centers and 245/50 ZR 16 96W, YOKOHAMA.
All glass original EXCEPT for new windshield, All new rubber for glass, doors, hood, trunk and Targa top.
H4 head lamps, matching passenger side rear view mirror, electric antenna.

    INTERIOR/OTHER:
All gauges rebuilt by North Hollywood Speedometer in N. Hollywood CA w/ Brushed Aluminum Bezels
(Speedo was zeroed and clock converted to Quartz).
    Billet aluminum gear shift knob,
German square weave carpet, NARDI leather wrapped steering wheel w/ Porsche crest.
RS door panels, Electric Windows, Electric door locks, Alarm w/ (2) remotes.
OPTIMA battery located in “Smugglers Box” and Master Battery Kill Switch located in the trunk.
New custom built (3/4” wider) Rallye STS seats by GTS Classics (GTSclassics@aol.com).

Recently, a new fuel filter was installed as well as “Porsche” script decals were added to the rockers. Also, the oil was changed every 3,000 miles with Brad Penn oil. The aftermarket stereo was removed and just the black CD plate remains.

The car is located in Colorado with the current owner.

I owned that car for a short while. I bought it from Paul and he sold it for me again. I like doing business with him, but now as then the description overstates what the car is. In any event, based on the sum of it's parts, the car is definitely worth the money.
