    Mystery Part

    Hi all,

I asked this question over on Rennlist but stumped everyone so I thought I would try over here.

When we bought our 1970 Targa the PO gave us a couple of boxes of minor misc. spares and bits. Nothing really exciting, mostly minor trim pieces, and such. But also included were two fabric panels that I can't figure out what they belong to, I am not sure they even go with our car? I took a couple pics of the parts. There are just two pieces and the pics show each side. Does anyone have any idea as what these parts may be for? Thanks!

    Joe

They look like some homemade floor mats. They look like they were supposed to fit a 911/912.

    Wink homemade carpets...

They do look like homemade carpets with adhesive to prevent the original rubber carpets from sliding around the floor?

Yeah, due to the shape I was thinking along the same lines, that perhaps it had something to do with the floor mats. Strange.

I think boxster03 is right, they are the rare factory production mats. So who wants to make me an offer?

What are the strips made of? Wood? Like they were meant to be laminated into something?

Yes, the strips are made of wood. Not sure why those strips are there to be honest.
