    H4 Cibie lights worth restoring?

Removed from Euro 67. Going H1's but trying to decide if these are worth restoring. I assume bastard's Hella housing H4 Cibie lights.

I have no problem with the theory that all men are created equal.

THe housing is definitely worth saving; people look for them all the time. The glass looks like it is the clear stuff used for the early US sealed beam unit and will fetch a good price if perfect or near, much less if scarred with 40 years of gravel. The Cibies lights themselves are available from Stern new for around $150 a pair. If in good shape, they would be priced accordingly. Bulbs you can get anywhere. So yes, take a bit of time to clean them up.

    Hi Mark,

I restored a set of Cibie lights found in an old VW junkyard. Paid $30 for the set. Your light looks like a good restoration candidate. Once you have cleaned off all of the old white glue 3M 5200 Marine sealant is an excellent choice for re-connecting the lens. It looks exactly like the original glue used by Cibie and is very very durable.
Be gentle when cleaning the reflector and do NOT use rubbing alcohol. I found that is dulls the reflector.

    Have fun.
