Will take to Autometrics Motorsports in Charleston SC Oct 5th for this, ride height adjustment, and final sorting. Thanks to Peter for the fog covers !! We have some tire clearance issues and will remove this guard and will fabricate a screen to fit.Name: A85DA704-B4FF-4320-80AB-A7FDF59DCCCE.jpg

The ‘55 356 is in for starter issues. Hopefully looking forward to showing the 911 at Greenbriar, Cincinnati, and Chattanooga Concours in 2021. Thanks for following this thread. Name: 9B379718-8052-4ECD-A40B-C63092691D0D.jpg

Is the oil cooler in the original location? There shouldn't be any clearance problems. Try to retain the louvered plate, the louvers create a low pressure area that helps pull air thru the cooler. A mesh screen won't do that and cooling efficiency is reduced.

As Ed said the stock louvered plate has no clearance issues...

(I retro-fitted a '72 cooler and stub hoses with later hard lines and thermostat on my '73)

Looks like George is using the Elephant Racing cooler setup.
It has a frame mount at the bottom of the cooler.
Maybe it can move closer to the back of the battery box.
Can you show what space is there now

Thanks for the expert input !! We really appreciate it. I will forward to Mr Laws and try to keep this plate. I am almost 100% that it is from Elephant. The years that have gone by have clouded my memory !!

Mr Laws will have fun moving the cooler more forward ....
Then adjusting the smaller connector pipes and then adJusting the finned long pipes .
Ask me how I know (my 71)
The issue is the Elephant setup Does not adapt well to the rear inner body which is not flat like later cars.

Hope it goes well and easier than mine

Visited Mr Laws today. Here, he made a custom grill for the front oil cooler. It looks fantastic. He did not have to move the cooler at all and painted black so it disappears. He loves these challenges in design !! Name: C047BBC0-B1DF-45E3-BB8D-EB863BF0EB72.jpg
