WTB: 11 Blade Fan

My '68 911L has a 5 blade fan and I would like to replace it with an eleven blade one. Any cosmetic condition as long as it's true.

Does it have an aluminum case/housing or magnesium? The earlier were 250mm, the later, 245mm

John - pretty sure that your engine would have had a 245mm fan/housing but if it's the earlier sand-cast aluminium 250mm fan & housing you need I have this excellent ceramic-coated one available :

I want to make sure I measure properly - 5mm is not much of a delta. Do I measure the diameter of the fan itself or the inside or outside edge of the housing? Thanks!

You probably don't need to measure it to know.

The Magnesium fan housing (dark grey usually) ending in "5R" uses a 245mm fan. I doubt you have a 930 part numbered fan housing on your '68, but that would use a 245mm or 226mm.

The aluminum fan housing like the one Andy posted uses the 250mm fan. This would probably only be if you have an Aluminum early engine case ('68 was the crossover year, ya know

Well, this is probably going to be obvious to everyone but me...

I removed the fan and housing. The number on the housing is 901 106 101 0R. I tried to measure but just don't know from where to where. The engine is a 1967 (engine # 911405) so I assume it's the earlier 250mm but it seems to measure out as 245mm. ???

After doing some more reading on this, I measured the diameter of my fan from the middle of the hub to the tip of one of the blades. It appears to be right at 125mm, so I think the diameter is 250mm. Does that correlate with the other information that I have provided?
